Hanging Basketball Goals

A couple of years ago when Greg was working on a rec center, he was fortunate enough to be given some discarded retractable basketball goals. Our school district became the proud recipients of the regifted basketball goals. On Wednesday and Thursday, a work crew was able to installl the goals! Below are pictures of the process.

School Christmas Parties

Tuesday the kids got out of school at 12:45 for Christmas Break. On Monday and Tuesday, the kids had fun days at school. All day Monday, the kids did Christmas/Winter themed crafts and games and on Tuesday, they got to watch Christmas movies and then had their classroom parties. Below is a picture of Morgan.

Marshall's Cub Scout Pack Meeting

Today, Morgan's Cub Scout Pack had a pack meeting. They have pack meetings one Sunday every two months. At the pack meetings, all of the dens are present and they present the boys with the achievement awards they have earned since the previous pack meeting. We start the meeting with a carry-in dinner and then proceed to the Pack meeting. It is a fun time to visit with each other and see the boys recognized for their hard work!

Maggie and I before the meeting started!
After the presentation of colors, the boys lined up and presented a poem of HOLIDAY using an acrostic! Here they are holding up the letter they represented. Marshall was "O".
The Tigers sang "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" The extra guy is a younger sibling of one of the boys....he wanted to sing too!

School Christmas Concert

The kids had their Christmas concert at school on Friday afternoon. It was supposed to have been on Tuesday night, but with the snow storm and school being cancelled for three days, it was rescheduled for Friday afternoon. Our school is small enough that we have the elementary and high school concerts together. The kids looked really nice.....especially since they had worn their dress clothes to school that morning. I was very nervous that they would have stains and wrinkles all over them, but all three looked very nice!!

Morgan's Ballgame

Saturday mornings, Morgan plays in a basketball league in Albany, which is about 45 minutes north of our home. This Saturday morning, he played a team from Albany and won 54-6. He also plays in a league in St. Joe on Thursday nights. They have played on the past two Thursdays and have won both of those games as well. Below are some pictures of him playing. He is number 11 on the black team.

Family Field Day

In September, our school's Parent Teacher Organization has sponsored a Family Field Day for the past two years. During the Saturday afternoon, we have field games available for all ages and then we form teams and play volleyball and kickball with all ages together, including parents. It has been very fun the past two years, and hopefully will continue in the future!

Morgan's Tenderfoot Advancement

In August, Morgan had his first weekend campout as a Boy Scout. At the end of the weekend, they had a Court of Honor to present the boys with the Merit Badges and any rank advancements they had earned since the last Court of Honor. During this particular Court of Honor, Morgan was awarded his rank advancement to Tenderfoot Scout. He was very proud of his accomplishment!

Over the weekend, Morgan had learned how to tie a flying figure eight knot. During the ceremony, he was asked to demostrate it! These next two pictures in reverse order show the process!

First Day of School

Yes, I know it was in August, but I am finally taking time to download a bunch of pictures from my camera to the computer at work! So, now is when you are getting to see them!

Just woke up Maggie!! Scary isn't it!?! I'm not sure what she does when she's sleeping, but I suspect it may be the gymnastics that she does during her waking hours!
